In the Maldives we see a deficiency of quality education in the fields of Islamic Knowledge.

ILM Institute for Islamic Studies was established to address this deficiency, with the aim to specialize in Islamic fields of Knowledge and deliver highly acclaimed programs in the Maldives. In this regard, our areas of focus include, Quranic sciences, Hadith Sciences, Islamic Jurisprudence, Islamic Theology, Islamic Values and other corresponding areas.

We also see the lack of Arabic language proficiency among students in higher education and aim to address this by providing Arabic language skills focused programs across Maldives. Our belief is that, the only way to access the rich and vast bulk of knowledge produced in fields of Islamic sciences across 1400 generations, can only be accessed via Arabic language. One of the top strategic priorities of the Institute is to allow Maldivian higher education seekers to forgo this barrier and help them reach the vast bulk of Islamic Knowledge.

ILM Institute, Under the guidance of the Institute President, Dr.Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed, has established a special Quran memorization project, to train 100 “Huffāẓ”. A total of 250 students currently participate in the program. Also, the Institute runs a special Quran program aimed at adults.
